12:54 a.m. - 2007-07-10 We went to see my sister and nieces for a little while and ate at the Captain D's in Greenville. I had this Shrimp Marinara. They're pretty good, but dang, the noodles are hard to eat with a fork lol. While the vacation didn't go nearly as had planned, I enjoyed visiting Gulf Shores. It's a pretty nice place. Let me tell you one thing though. I realized how bad things are condition-wise here where I live in the Mississippi Delta. For example, the people in Gulf Shores were so friendly. After my parents and I finished eating at Captain D's, I held the exit door open for this woman following behind me carrying this big sack of food. Do you think I got a simple 'thank you' for it? Nope. The woman actually glared at me and simply walked off. Oh well. Just another day in my on-going random acts of kindness mission I guess. In other news, in a little less than a month, I'll have had this Diaryland account for six years. (Even if I don't update here too often anymore) You know what's funny though? The two people that I knew back when I joined here that actually told me about this site (and subsequently started my six-year long blogging experience) don't use Diaryland anymore. I've always just found that a funny fact.
